Our course on the Russian cases is designed for learners at the first level of study. For this reason we only look at the fundamental meanings of the cases, and practice them on material from a commonly-used lexis of 1000 high-frequency words (as in the textbooks Golden Ring, Vladimir, and Speak Russian) Our aim is to make knowledge of the cases active and automatic. So as to make this entertaining for the student, we have introduced an element of fun, personifying each of the grammatical categories (cases) as members of a friendly group of six brothers.
The lessons are designed as an interactive dialogue with students, in which they carry out a series of exercises based on the different cases, becoming progressively more demanding.
If a student gets into difficulties, he or she can refer to the commentary, which gives more detailed explanations, quick-reference grammar tables, and so on.
Extra exercises are included on each topic, so the student can work on any areas of weakness.
