ECLIPSES MENTIONED IN HENRY GENTINON HISTORY OF ENGLAND PROBLEM SOLUTION
In Morozov (1) on p. 328 in chapter I-XII is going about several eclipses mentioned in Henry Gentinon (2),(3, 70), the first of them:
"In 5-th year of Cynric Sun was eclipted in March in morning".
Westgothic King Cynric according to traditional history governed from 534 to 560. His fifth year was 539 AD.
Morozov thinks is going about eclipse held in 15 february 538 (its characteristics according Krasilnikov's canon):
London Marsel
Roma Athens
Constantinopol
538/02/15 08:23 0.679 08:15 0.738 08:26 0.926
08:18 0.793 08:37 0.921
although precisely in february 16 was held before Sundown the following eclipse:
London Marsel
565/02/16 17:20 0.816 17:13 0.545
Other solutions are sensless to find because of this one is so good.
About the second eclipse is writed so in chapter I-XIII on p. 329
"On 7-th Cinric's year Sun was eclipted almost till 9-th hour, so stars became to shine"
Morozov thinks this eclipse as held in 20 June 540. It was visible so:
London Marsel
Roma
Athens Constantinopol
540/06/20 08:00 0.654 07:55 0.876 07:58
1.077 08:10 0.844 08:19 0.940
Other solutions are sensless to find because of this one is so good.
The conclusions are the same to Beda Venerabilis's eclipse exploring: in south this eclipse was visible good and in north bad.
About those eclipses you can also read in English-saxon cronicle, London annales, and Beda Venerabilis
